Home made conchas (pan dulce)

Ingredients:

DOUGH:
1 cup warm milk (no hotter than 110 degrees)
1/4 cup room temp unsalted butter (half a stick)
1 egg
4 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 teaspoon INSTANT dry yeast (two packets)
3 cups of flour sifted
CRUST:
1 cup flour
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter (half a stick)
1/2 shortening or lard
3-5 drops food coloring of choice (I made 3 different colors)
